Endocarts International Limited - Case Study

Specialist Medical Carts for Global Markets

Endocarts was founded, as a result of a management buyout from Cantel UK, in 2018 by Renato Pichierri and Paul Bowers. The pair acquired the assets of the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) activities when Cantel made the strategic decision to focus their business model on infection control.

Renato and Paul each has over 20 years’ experience of sheet metal design and fabrication in the UK and Internationally.  They are utilising their extensive experience to provide bespoke specialist medical carts that are designed according to their global customers’ specifications.  Alongside this they are developing ranges that will secure long-term growth for the future.

Renato comments “Our aim is always to provide a bespoke solution that enhances the overall aesthetic of our customers’ requirements, and strategically, we focus on what we know best.  Quality is key to maintaining our reputation.  We embrace continuous improvement and the ISO 13485 processes, both of which attribute to our ability to deliver product excellence.”

“The team at Daro understands our business well; and the very nature of bespoke work requires partners who are agile and can accommodate our varying volumes.”

Paul started working with Daro in 1998 when, prior to the Cantel buyout, he was instrumental in building Medicart International to a team of over 100 employees.

The pair’s previous experience gave them a head start on surrounding themselves with reliable suppliers to work with under the Endocarts banner.   Their exacting standards meant they needed suppliers who were not only reliable but also well priced for quality and service.

For plastic vacuum forming and metal work Daro was at the forefront of mind.  Paul adds “The team at Daro understands our business well; and the very nature of bespoke work requires partners who are agile and can accommodate our varying volumes.”

The main differentiators for Endocarts is their speed of communication with their customers and an efficient supply chain that helps to reduce lead times.

“As speed of communication is important to us; between us and our customers, it follows that it’s important to us in our supply chain too.  Because the head of sales Stuart Clarke at Daro Manufacturing Services is able to interpret our needs, whenever we receive a communication from him, we know that he has the experience to ‘put himself in our shoes’ and make the necessary recommendations.”

Building on many decades of expertise, Daro Manufacturing Services’ vision is to be recognised as the most trusted, agile and responsive British design, manufacturing and assembly partner; delivering solutions to problems from specification to prototyping through to production, assembly and delivery.

“It’s always encouraging to hear of such success stories for our customers. We all look forward to a bright future for Endocarts and are delighted to be part of their exciting journey.”

Being part of Daro Group means the Manufacturing Services’ team benefits from the wider support of Daro Group’s central resources such as strategic planning, sales & marketing, financial management, leadership and on-going investment.

Stuart Clarke at Daro comments “We have elected to have one single value across the Daro Group; you win, we win. This is a simple principle that guides our thinking and decisions and it always results in the most appropriate decisions – which our customers tell us they appreciate.”

The strength of the relationship between Endocart and Daro means that, via the ISO accreditation, Daro is nominated as a critical supplier.

As a final note Daro Group managing director Mervyn Douglas adds “It’s always encouraging to hear of such success stories for our customers.  We all look forward to a bright future for Endocarts and are delighted to be part of their exciting journey.”
